Liquid density is mass per unit volume, for example grams per millilitre. Because PG, VG and formulated mixtures have different densities, volume and weight measurements can be converted accurately only with an appropriate density value.

Density is a measured or characteristic value, so it describes not an object but a property that can be compared. Only together with its unit, measurement condition and tolerance does the figure become genuinely meaningful.
