Open pod system
An open pod system allows its pod to be filled with a suitable liquid rather than using one fixed factory filling. “Open” describes the choice of liquid; it does not automatically mean pods or coils work across brands.
01
Classification
Open pod system denotes a distinct device design with its own combination of power source, liquid reservoir, atomiser unit and control logic. Those four characteristics decide which spare parts and liquids will fit at all. In this glossary, Open pod system deliberately sits close to Vape mod, because the two are regularly conflated in everyday language.
02
Practical relevance
When buying or upgrading, Open pod system is therefore not a detail but the base decision: it fixes the charging route, the wear parts and the running costs for the entire service life. The disposal route follows directly from this design too. Together with Big-puff vape, Open pod system is one of the points where factual information and advertising promises separate most clearly.
03
Handling it safely
With Open pod system, use only the pods, coils, cables and chargers the manufacturer has expressly released for it. A deformed housing, hot contacts or leaking liquid are reasons to stop using it immediately. If anything around Open pod system changes – smell, warmth, sound or weight – that is a reason to check, not a detail.

04
Not to be confused with
The line between Open pod system, Vape mod and Big-puff vape runs not through the form factor but through what each one measures, regulates or names. If uncertainty remains after the comparison, the product's model designation is more reliable information than the umbrella term Open pod system.
